EXPLORING CONCRETE PROPERTIES WITH SILICO MANGANESE SLAG AS PARTIAL REPLACEMENT FOR COARSE AND FINE AGGREGATE: AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY
Keywords:
aggregate, cement., reinforcementsAbstract
In recent years, environmental degradation and global warming have emerged as the two main issues. Due to globalisation, the raw materials needed for construction are becoming more and more scarce. Preventing the depletion of natural resources and maximising the use of waste materials presents the greatest challenge to researchers and engineers. Slag is the primary byproduct of the industry.
The purpose of this work is to investigate, through experimentation, how the characteristics of concrete are affected when silicomanganese slag is used in place of coarse and fine material. M30 grade concrete is the mix design that was taken into consideration for this study. In this investigation, silicomanganese slag has been used in place of natural fine and coarse aggregate at percentages of 0%, 5%, 10%,
and 15%.
